Water Treatment Plant Improvements
In 2018-19 RWD #6, Franklin County added a 215,000 gallon clarifier to our plant operations. The 1.5 million dollar project was implemented and completed to help purify the water before it enters the plant to be treated. The clarifier reduces the amount of chemicals needed to treat the water, cuts down on the amount of wasted water needed to back wash dirty filters and equipment, as well as saving on run time for our aging plant. The District funded this project using cash reserves along with a Bond issuance in the amount of $525,000 dollars. The District not only strives to continually upgrade its system, but it also tries to stay ahead of mandated requirements from the state of Kansas so that we provide good quality water to all our benefit units.
